Tax Manager is a leadership position that will be directly responsible for managing the tax return and audit processes at bebe. We are looking for someone who can bring strong project management skills coupled with experience filing tax returns at for federal, state, and/or sales and use taxes. This position will work closely with accounting group, store operations, external advisors and auditors.
What you'll be doing at bebe
The ideal Tax Manager will be responsible all aspects of the tax return process including, data gathering, preparing and/or reviewing, filing and responding to requests from tax authorities. In addition to managing the tax compliance process, you will be a valuable contributor to the tax provision prepared for our GAAP financial statements, including helping to ensure that all tax related accounts are recorded and reconciled accurately. You will also be a key contributor of ideas to improving the tax process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to build on the core knowledge that they already have and to broaden their base of knowledge by working across all tax aspects of the company.
Essential Functions
â ¢Work closely with accountants to ensure information for tax compliance is obtained accurately and efficiently.
â ¢Manage efforts to re-engineer processes, document policies, and implement controls for compliance responsibilities.
â ¢Manage preparation of federal consolidated tax return and state income and franchise tax returns.
â ¢Prepare tax-related disclosures required in GAAP financial statements.
â ¢Manage tax calendar and ensure all returns, extensions, and payments are filed in a timely manner and appropriate documentations is maintained.
â ¢Monitor changes in tax law and impact on company's tax posture.
â ¢Identify opportunities for improvement in the tax compliance process.
â ¢Manage all aspects of Federal, state and international tax audits.
â ¢Responsible for overall federal / state / local sales and income tax compliance.
â ¢Assure timely and accurate filing of sales and income tax returns.
â ¢Participates in tax planning and assists with special studies to determine tax implications of company operations.
â ¢Manages small group of Tax specialists
â ¢Requires a Bachelor's degree. CPA preferred
â ¢8-10 years of progressive experience including demonstrated experience managing people or process
â ¢Ensures that goals and objectives are met on time and within budget. Usually directs a staff of exempt employees and/or supervisors
â ¢Ability to work to meet strict deadlines. And juggle priorities as issues arise that impact critical deadlines and deliverables
â ¢A strong attention to detail

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
