Senior Director, IT - Data Management, Integration, & Analytics

JOB SUMMARY:   The Information Technology (IT) department within Sangamo isresponsible forpartnering with functional business groups in the prioritization, design, deployment, andsupport of IT solutions in alignment with business goals and objectives.  In conjunction with those efforts, IT is also chartered with designing and deploying the requisiteinfrastructure tosupport those business system capabilities in a cost-efficient manner.  The vision of the IT department assumes a verylean and nimbleinternal team that sets the overall IT direction and standards, while leveraging 3rd-party partners to carry out much of the development, deployment, andsupport of the solutions.  This delivery philosophy is focused onpartnering with:  Service providers that possess working knowledge and experience in the life sciences industry, while also being tightly aligned with Sangamo's culture of emphasizing best-in-class customer service. Technology vendors that provide leading Software as a Service (SaaS) and Cloud-based solutions in order to minimize the on-premise footprint requiring support, while enabling the nimbleness required to support Sangamo's rapidly evolving business needs.   This position will work closely with business partners, and peers within IT, to mesh technology and processes into tangible automated solutions.  Primary focus will be on mapping out and orchestrating our data integration & transformation strategy, and building out our Reporting and Analytics capabilities.  Success for this position will be measured by key metrics associated with on time/on budget system implementation, reuse of technical capabilities, scalability & performance of systems, and mobile-enablement of solutions. The person in this role will provide techno-functional leadership within Sangamo, serving as the resident authority that guides the selection, design, and deployment of SaaS-based solutions related to how we manage data, integrate it across multiple systems, and deliver analytics capabilities providing insights into how we need to run the business across functional areas and with partners.  This position is especially critical to the success of IT given the need to weave multiple SaaS-based solutions into one cohesive ecosystem to conduct business today.  Though broad technical expertise is required, this senior position plays a critical role in being able to bridge the technical/business gap by articulating highly technical concepts in business terms.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Partners with business leaders to understand their needs, and works to ensure system investments are properly prioritized, scoped, delivered and managed in support of business requirements. Working with their business counterpart, leads the technical delivery of IT solutions approved within the portfolio. Evolves the 3-year IT Roadmap and system inventory, aligning them with the budget process. Partners with the Validation / QA organization to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Prepares system configuration and deployment cost estimates, budgets, and schedules. Prepares and presents project proposals to management and business partners. Leads and facilitates the evaluation / recommendation of new technologies or capabilities that can be applied across the business. Reviews current status of business system capabilities and prepares recommendations for system improvements. Provides architectural guidance and oversight across projects and technology platforms, ensures guiding principles and technology standards are followed, and leads the Phase Gate reviews. Works with the Infrastructure team to ensure system life cycle documentation is up to date. Works with their Enterprise Applications counterpart to ensure Data Integration, Reporting, & Analytics capabilities are properly identified, prioritized, and delivered to the business. Conducts ongoing research into industry and technology trends. Evaluates, summarizes and presents key trends with potential to impact IT capabilities. Partners with 3rd party vendors to understand and plan for application technology roadmaps and support services. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.   EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required, MBA or equivalent work experiencedesired. Minimum 10-12 years' work experience, including at least 5 years in a managerial/leadership role. Broad IT management experience, with particular emphasis on Life Sciences-related systems delivery required. Experience with the use of SDLC methodologies in project delivery required. Understanding of SOx and GxP controls, experience in an FDA-regulated environment is required. Experience across Database Administration, Data Integration and ETL strategies, and Data Analytics and Reporting are required. Experience with MuleSoft or Dell Boomi integration tools, Oracle and SQLServer Databases Management, and Tableau Analytics and Data Visualization software required. Ability to work directly with business partners and end users to generate consensus around technical directions. Ability to hire, develop, and retain critical staff. Ability to analyze complex business problems and evaluate solutions. Ability to translate complex technical issues into business terms. Contributes to setting the overall IT department agenda and operating practices. Works to develop well-rounded personnel via complete and actionable development plans. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
