Director / Sr. Director, Commercial Field Training and Development

Summary: Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial Field team, the Director/Sr. Director of Commercial Training and Development is a newly created role which potentially will have tremendous impact bringing Aimmune's first Characterized Oral Desensitization ImmunoTherapy (CODIT), currently known as AR101, for peanut allergy to patients in need.   The Director/Sr Director, Commercial Training and Development will design and implement the commercial management, managed markets, and field manager training programs focused on their critical role in ensuring the successful launch of AR101.  The Aimmune training function will use in-depth clinical and sales knowledge, as well as general field-related experience, specific product and marketplace knowledge, to facilitate sales and clinical education training sessions for the commercial team. The Commercial Learning and Development function will work closely with Marketing, Field Sales, Human Resources, Market Access, and Medical/Legal/Regulatory to design, build, and implement training programs to support commercial field and market access teams in the US.  This is an in-house position and will be located in Brisbane, California.  Local candidates strongly preferred.  Responsibilities: Collaborate with commercial stakeholders including marketing, commercial management, managed markets, and field specialist to design training objectives and plans Design, build, and implement Aimmune's commercial management and development programs Deliver product launch meeting(s), manager meetings and ongoing skills training throughout the year Evaluate effectiveness of programs and proactively assess the development needs across the commercial organization to determine future needs Develop programs, facilitate large group training and design effective pre, live, and continuous learning environments to drive performance Update training programs and curricula as necessary, based on performance metrics and needs assessments Ensure that all training initiatives and programs are fully supported and documented within compliance standards Serve as a role model for behavior that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the organization and Aimmune Therapeutics Lead the design, development, and delivery of training modules for new field personnel and/or newly promoted personnel, where appropriate Design, update, and communicate in-field training objectives and materials to commercial organization Plan and execute comprehensive training program encompassing in house, web based and self-study modules leading to robust knowledge level and continuous improvement Refine new hire training road-maps to reflect current needs of the product messaging for all audiences Facilitate workshops effectively in a clear and interactive manner Work with the Leadership to ensure new hire readiness Evaluate training needs annually or as needed Work in the field with audiences to determine needs; in collaboration with management, help provide coaching and pull-through of training initiatives (where appropriate) Consult with Management on needs of the field. Plan, develop and conduct workshops at regional meetings and national meetings in collaboration with Commercial Leadership and regional training Participate in curriculum design and workshop development for advanced training Work with cross-functional teams to set objectives for continuous improvement of commercial effectiveness; message delivery, knowledge, customer skills, etc. Develop and adhere to sales training budget Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent, preferably in life sciences or management, MBA or other advanced degree a plus Minimum of 10 years' experience in the pharmaceutical industry Minimum of 5 years' experience as a commercial trainer, active membership in the LTEN and/or ASTD preferred Prior sales management/leadership experience Demonstrated ability to build commercial management and leadership programs Strong understanding of training technologies and their optimal uses Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Ability to work independently and on a team; positive, team-focused approach is essential Computer aptitude with appropriate software programs, Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat is required. Proven leadership skills and a high level of accountability Exceptional negotiation, facilitation, presentation, and decision-making skills Travel required for meetings and field visits (approx. 25% to 35% travel)     About Aimmune Therapeutics, Inc.   Aimmune Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company founded to address the unmet medical need in food allergy, which currently has no approved treatments. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
